I like hats

Avery has had a great aversion to having anything on his head, so when Jeremy brought home a new bike helmet for him yesterday, I was amazed that he kept putting it on and taking it off. Then today he grabbed one of Jeremy's hats and kept playing with it. I decided to make it a little bit smaller so that it would fit better. He was playing with it off and on all day, in front of the mirror, he actually wore it around the house a few times for a while also. He is such a little man. It seems that each day brings something new with him.

Trip to the Zoo

While Jeremy was up kayaking with Brad, Avery and I decided to go to the zoo. His first experience at the zoo. This is a legless lizard. Avery wanted to squeeze it, the handler did not think that was a good idea.

After seeing the penguins swim, he posed for me with fake ones.

Avery with his Uncle Jon. Avery looks tired, but wasn't yet. He did take a 4 hour nap when we got home.

Arizona Fun

Avery had a ton of fun at the Arizona science museum with his cousins. (the Walraths) The blue stuff Avery is playing in is rubberized plutonium safe for kids. We asked about the blue on him afterwards, and they swore up and down that it was non toxic.
His cousins do not really know what color his hair is, and were doing a photo shoot to see if it came even close to the red that they all have.
