Avery gets his groove on

While Avery and I were down in Arizona this summer, one of his cousins, Courtney, gave him a used phone. It plays some fun ring tones that Avery likes to dance and listen too. He will bring me the phone and then start dancing to the music... It was especially nice to see him doing this tonight as he has been running a 100-102 fever for the past 24 hours. He is trying to cut all the rest of his teeth in one fell swoop, OK, just six. He had three come out last week and three more are right there. He has been one hot, cuddly monkey today.

Making of the Maracas

Last week was the second week that Avery and I have been working on making some maracas for him. We are going out to Kortnai's house. Last week we did paper mache on balloons (I forgot the camera), this week we painted them, next week we will put in noisy things so that he can annoy Dad.

Here are Brittany and Jacob, the older with only his fingers dirty, they younger with a purple mohawk.

It is definitely past Avery's nap time, hence the half mast eye lids. He did have fun though. He was asleep before we hit the freeway, it is only five minutes from Kortnai's house.

When we got home, after putting Avery down for a nap, I decided to make an angel food cake. I was taking it to dinner out to Phillip and Kortnai's the next night. Obviously my pan was not big enough. I was glad that I had put the cookie sheet underneath, until it went over that also and started the whole house smelling like burning sugar. I guess that I need a bigger buntd pan.

It tells you to take it out and turn it over onto a bottle right out of the oven, it took about 3 minutes for it to hit the deck. It still tasted good, even Phillip who does not like angel food cake, had more that one bite.

Nap in Peace

Jeremy put Avery down for a nap the other day. After he had been sleeping for quite a while, I peeked in to check on him. This is what I found, it is a good thing that I didn't have a huge mess to clean up. This is Avery's favorite sleeping position.

Fun at the cousins house

We got to go over to the Carlson's house and have dinner and games with Jeremy's parent's, Kathy and Wes, Jeremy's Uncle Dave and family were also in town for the weekend and came over too. Here Avery talked Dave into reading him a book.

Avery and Austin get dirty in the fresh dirt.

The sprinklers were possessed and would pop up and spray for 2-5 seconds and then go back down. They would do this randomly with no set time between occasions. Avery got caught out in the middle and thought it was great. Austin wanted to go around or run as fast as he could.

Discovery Center Again???

So I took Avery to the Discovery Center again on the 13th of August. We went with a friend and her little girl. They were a little bit late, so we played at the park and then looked at the ducks and geese before heading in. After and two hours I turn around and this is what I see.

I took him home and put him to bed.

Discovery Center

So today we went to the Discovery Center, it will be free on Friday's until Nov. 16th (Fred Meyer has paid for everyone to enter for that long). We again had a great time. It was nap time, but that did not slow Avery down.

He really likes the shapes on the light table. He was playing with them at eye level until one of the stools became vacant, then climbed right on up. He is climbing on everything all of a sudden.

He actually got the ball to stay on top of the air tube a couple of times.

He is into cuddling soft animals and blankets. He gave the Ernie doll a hug and then handed it to me to hug also. He liked to throw the animals into this, when they would fall out, he would put them back in again.

On their way through town, Grandpa and Grandma Himle brought Avery this swing. Jeremy put it up on the porch tonight after we got home, it was just the perfect temp to sit out and enjoy the end of another long day. I think that it is a hit.

On Thursday, we had a very busy day. We met up with the Goodsell's at the Boise Art Museum for their free first Thursday. We walked around and looked at the exhibits for 15 minutes, but had one of the employees following us from room to room. We decided to just go to the kid room were they could touch what ever they wanted. Avery wanted to do all the things that Jacob was doing.

We then came home and I had to make some brownies for a baby shower I was co-hosting that evening. I turned around from the sink and Avery had managed to climb up on the flour bucket. He then proceeded to "help" me make the brownies. He really does like to do whatever Mom is doing.

Fruity Delight

It was simmering hot the other day and we purchased some all fruit popsicles that were all fruit. Avery and I sat out on the back porch and each had one. Avery didn't let any of his (other than all that ran down his arms) go to waste.

It must have felt so good on his mouth with all his teeth coming in.
